About this property

Quite possibly the closest you can get to the ocean on an acre of land in Hawaiian Paradise Park without actually sharing a property boundary with the ocean. A rare opportunity, indeed. In a subdivision where the vast majority of oceanfront lots are around half an acre in size, this stretch of 1st Avenue (Akala) between Paradise Dr. and Maku'u Dr. has fifteen properties one acre in size or larger that have unobstructed ocean views. Only a third of those lots remain vacant, and this one is for sale. Fronting the property along the ocean is a thin strip of County-owned land, and a pedestrian walking path that runs along what would have been the continuation of Beach Rd. Get all the value of oceanfront property without actually being "oceanfront". Imagine building your future home here. Trek the shoreline cliffs by bike or by foot, or cast your line and try to hook the big one. Wake up to some of the most breathtaking sunrises and coastal views, and watch whales, dolphins, and turtles from your backyard. This property is just over one acre in size, with about 135-feet of street frontage (width) and about 336-feet (SE boundary) to 340-feet (NW boundary) in depth, according to County real property tax maps. Ideally located approximately 15 minutes to Kea'au town, 20 minutes to Pahoa Village, and 30 minutes to Hilo with the airport, hospital and university; shopping, dining, recreation, beach parks, and more all around. Even Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is just a 45 minute drive from this location. DISCLAIMER: Any boundaries drawn on listing photos are approximate. Only a licensed surveyor may determine the actual boundaries and area of the property.
