About this property

In the South Kona beach village of Manini, this two-home property offers an opportunity to restore and reimagine a place with the ocean practically in the backyard. Yet when you come home, you’re surrounded by mature tropical trees, lawn, privacy and shade. *Check out the video! Set on more than 1/4 acre, the fully fenced corner lot includes two separate homes: a ~1,056 sq ft 1979 main house with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, and the original ~600 sq ft 1953 cottage with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath and a kitchenette. A separate small studio room provides a versatile setting for an art studio, yoga room, office or creative pursuits. The dwellings are arranged around tropical landscaping, which includes mango, monkeypod, plumeria, coconut palms and other established trees that provide shade and privacy. Two gated driveways provide convenient access to each home. An outdoor gazebo, covered carport and tool shed add to the property's functionality. The grounds are fully enclosed with solid wood fencing atop a rock wall, gates and a separate pedestrian entrance. Manini Beach is an established community at the southern end of Kealakekua Bay, with a limited number of residential properties. Here, the ocean can be part of everyday life. Walk down to the water for a morning swim, snorkel or paddle, return home for breakfast, and head back to the beach to enjoy the sunset. The two-home configuration allows for extended family, guests, a primary residence with a second dwelling, or a place where family and friends can gather near the water. The homes are in older condition and ready for renovation, updating and thoughtful investment. This is an opportunity for someone with vision to breathe new life into a property in one of South Kona’s most charming coastal communities. Manini Beach feels secluded while remaining approximately 10 minutes from the amenities of Captain Cook and Keauhou and about 30 minutes from Kailua-Kona.
