About this property

Some properties are defined by their homes. Others, by the land. This extraordinary 33.76 acre sustainable sanctuary in North Kohala is defined by both. Nestled in desirable Lava Zone 9, this remarkable property has been lovingly stewarded into a private retreat where exceptional craftsmanship, renewable living, and the beauty of Hawaiʻi exist in perfect harmony. As you travel the private drive beneath hundreds of swaying coconut palms, the outside world fades away. Sweeping Pacific Ocean views unfold before you, with Haleakalā rising majestically across the channel. Gentle trade winds, deep soil, and mature tropical gardens create an atmosphere of peace that is both grounding and inspiring. The thoughtfully crafted property includes approximately 4,600 square feet of living space in beautifully designed buildings. The main residence showcases bamboo architecture, handcrafted American Clay wall finishes, custom African Mahogany cabinetry, solid mahogany and teak doors, premium Pella windows, and bamboo, cork, quartzite, and eucalyptus flooring. A custom mahogany shoji screen office provides an inspiring workspace, while the private owner's suite features expansive lanais and a stunning marble bathroom with soaring ten foot walls that transform everyday living into a spa like experience. Designed for resilience as well as beauty, the property features three independent solar systems, more than sixty solar panels, battery storage, county water, a private well supporting the lush landscape with cold clean water and two permitted engineered wastewater systems. Mature coconut palms, dragon fruit, bamboo groves, productive gardens, and open pastures create endless opportunities for farming, horses, wellness, or simply enjoying the quiet luxury of living in harmony with the land. Some opportunities are measured by investment. Others are measured by the life they make possible. This is one of those rare places where both come together.
