About this property

Pepeekeo Point is a highly sought after agricultural subdivision known for deep soil, optimal elevation, perfect rainfall and sweeping ocean views. Just a short drive from Hilo, with easy access to coastal oceanfront trails, fishing and the Onomea Scenic Drive, it offers the perfect amount of acreage in a neighborhood setting with paved, walkable roads. Built entirely on one level, with wide hallways and doorways throughout for ease of access and airflow. Sliding doors and walls of windows open most rooms to covered lanais, with ocean and garden views from nearly every room. Panoramic ocean views, brilliant sunrises and humpback spouts in winter, daily life here comes with a view worth pausing for. The main living area includes two bedrooms and two baths. A third bedroom and bath are located in an attached wing with its own private entrance, perfect for guests. The primary suite opens to the same lanai and ocean views as the main living area, and includes an ensuite bath with a double vanity, a walk in closet and a river rock shower floor. The open kitchen features a large peninsula suited for both cooking and gathering. A gas range and an abundance of work space, storage and airflow will please the chef. A ferro cement water collection tank, on-demand hot water heater and passive cooling from tradewind breezes keep utility costs reasonable. The park-like grounds are fenced, gated and include 2.5 acres of fairly level, manicured lawn and a mature landscape of flowering ornamentals, palms, bamboo and fruit trees including citrus, avocado, banana, Suriname cherry, sapote, rambutan, jack fruit, finger limes, mango and lilikoi with space for more. A 500sf concrete slab with covered storage offers an optimal site for a future greenhouse. The remaining land slopes toward the year-round Makea Stream that bounds the property to the south. The Hamakua Dream: the perfect home on the perfect acreage.
