About this property

Set on 2.30 acres along the slopes of Hualālai, this classic Kailua-Kona residence blends 1960s architectural character with extensive modern updates. Built in 1966, the home retains its natural redwood ceilings, open beam design, and warm vintage details while offering meaningful improvements throughout. Ocean and sunset views can be enjoyed from multiple rooms, creating a strong connection to the Kona coastline and Keauhou area. The spacious living and dining areas open through large pocket doors to a screened lanai on one side and a private courtyard on the other, supporting easy indoor-outdoor living. The outdoor setting is a standout feature, with mature tropical landscaping, lava rock retaining walls, terraced areas, and a custom blue rock staircase leading to the oversized pool. The pool has been resurfaced with a Hydrazzo finish and enhanced with new lighting, heater, pump, and filter. Thoughtful improvements have been made to both comfort and function. Parking has been extended to the top of the property to reduce the need for stairs, while the driveway, turnarounds, entry, fencing, gates, and rock walls have all received attention. Recent upgrades include a new corrugated metal roof, gutters and downspouts, rebuilt front entry stairs and support structure, full interior repaint, restored redwood ceilings, owned solar PV system with battery backup, new jalousie windows and screens throughout most of the upper level, new propane water heater, replacement of galvanized plumbing lines, new main water supply line, updated electrical system, new oak flooring, new sinks and toilets, new LG refrigerator, stainless steel dishwasher, kitchen sink, washer, and dryer. Located near the Walua Walking Trail and overlooking the Keauhou area, this property offers acreage, ocean views, architectural warmth, and a convenient Kailua-Kona lifestyle on Hawai‘i Island.
