About this property
This is a leasehold property. This is a KSBE Leasehold Farm with a Lease to 1/31/2053 11.84 acres located up a sweet country road in Honaunau, South Kona, known as Telephone Exchange Rd; just a wee jiggity-jog off of the Hawaii Belt Rd, up a single lane leads you to this private orchard of 400 Macadamia Nut trees. The perimeter fenced property is divided by the access road. There is approximately one acre of forest on either side of the road, left wild as a sanctuary of native flora and fauna. Go through the wooded area to 3 acres of Macadamia Nut trees in the front and 7 acres in the back. Fully mature, grafted Macadamias were planted nearly 40 years ago. This is a unique offering, with a Lease to 2053 and which allows for a farm dwelling to be built. The cool, mauka elevation and rich soil is ideal for growing a huge variety of fruit and cash crops. Telephone Exchange Rd is a lovely community of farmers and artists. The property overlooks Pu’uhonua O’Honaunau, The City Of Refuge; a National Historical Park, which is a culturally significant Hawai’i landmark. The nearby bay is a fishing ramp, the home of the local outrigger team, Keoua, and offers some of the best ocean access for water sports that the Big Island has to offer. Other nearby beaches include Ho’okena, Manini, Ke’ei and Kealakekua Bay. Honaunau's local amenities include gas stations, Post Office, convenience stores, fruit stands and various eateries. The town of Captain Cook is a 10 minute drive away and has an excellent grocery store, Post Office, restaurants, Ace hardware and a lively Sunday Farmer’s Market. * KSBE Leasehold properties require 100% CASH. ** Closing takes approximately 6 months!
