About this property
Nestled near the top of Kaiwiki Road in beautiful Kaiwki Homesteads, this property offers peace, privacy, and the rare opportunity to develop your own dream forest retreat in East Hawaii's most sought after location. Surrounded on three sides by protected native forest Kaiwiki Homesteads offers unappareled beauty, sweeping coastal and forest views accessed by a County of Hawaii bridge and road. Located at the end of Kaiwiki Road with no-through access this property, with its potential for solar, hydroelectric and wind energy generation, deep rich soil and year-round spring fed stream offers the perfect setting for your off grid sustainable rural lifestyle. The almost 20-acre parcel has conservation resource subzone designation which allows for, after a permitting process, the construction of a single-family home and out buildings as well as the clearing of land for gardening and orchards. This zoning, which means your neighbors cannot subdivide and over develop the area, coupled with the area being surrounded by state forest reserve, ensures that your off-grid forest paradise will remain pristine, quiet and rural forever. (Buyer will verify all intended uses with DLNR) Located on the slopes of Mauna Kea just 15 minutes from Hilo's historic downtown and East Hawaii's premier surfing beach Honolii, this property offers the best of both worlds: peaceful forest setting minutes from beaches, shopping and health care facilities. Do not miss out on this opportunity to live your Big Island dream.
